Alan Gratz

“In an instant, the world can change forever”

Ground Zero is a breathtaking novel about a 9-year-old boy, Brandon Cruz, and an 11-year-old girl, Reshmina. Brandon is with his dad in the World Trade Center(The North Twin Tower), on September 11, 2001, when an airplane crashes into the building. And in Afghanistan, Reshmina is in the middle of a war while a twin brother is determined to join the Taliban, the evil side.

This is definitely one of my favorite books. There is so much action, including heartbreak, in this book with mind-blowing twists. Alan Gratz left each chapter on a cliffhanger, so you are always anxious to read what’s next. This book is perfect for middle schoolers or kids who were born after this horrific event and for adults who lived through 9/11 and will never forget it. After reading Ground Zero, I can’t wait to get my hands on another book by Alan Gratz.
