Keys to the city is a heartwarming novel about a soon-to-be 13-year-old girl trying to find out who she is. Lindy is moving to a beautiful brownstone in New York City because her parents are opening a B’N’B. Lindy is adopted and suddenly, her parents start fighting a lot. Lindy gets very worried about this and it doesn’t make it any better that her brother breaks his arm. But then, on the last day of school, her principal gives all of the seventh graders an assignment; HAT(Heart, Abilities, and Talent). Lindy goes all around New York City with some friends who help her try to find Lindy’s real passion and after lots of trying, Lindy is sure that she found it.

I love this book and thought it was very touching. The theme of this book is family, friends, and finding yourself. The book is good for those in 4th grade and above. After reading Keys to the City, I can’t wait to read yet another book by Lisa Schroeder.
