Wonder is an astounding novel about a 10-year-old boy, Auggie. Auggie was born with a facial deformity that prevented him to go to a public school until fifth grade. When he did, kids started making fun of him because he looked different. One particular boy, Julian, started picking on Auggie. Luckily, Auggie made some friends, Summer, and Jack who stood up for him. At fifth-grade graduation, the twist was stunning.

Personally, I loved this book. Once I read this book, my entire perspective of people changed. Wonder takes place in present-day upper Manhattan, New York City. The theme of this book is that being different doesn’t mean that you should try to change yourself. Everyone is different and people need to accept that. The best part of this book is about how August faces his fears and learns to be himself. The book is 322 pages long, which is best for those above age 12. After reading this phenomenal story, Wonder remains one of my favorite books.
